Callous attitude of promoters responsible for incident: Sarma

Visakhapatnam: Noted social activist and former IAS officer EAS Sarma on Thursday said the latest fatal accident at Escience unit in Atchutapuram SEZ, in which many workers lost their lives and scores severely injured, is a loud indicator of the callousness with which pharma and chemical units are run by the promoters of those units and their senior management.

When contacted, he told Bizz Buzz that Wednesday’s accident is not the first one in Atchutapuram. There were similar fatal accidents before. The AP government has ordered an enquiry, perhaps to obfuscate the fact that the enquiries similarly ordered in the case of earlier accidents have not seen the light of the day, he stated.
