Visakhapatnam: Dr Lankapalli Bullayya Colleges, a premier college in the city, on Thursday signed a MoU with Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) for collaboration. Dr G Madhu Kumar, secretary and correspondent said the MoU with CEMS was signed during the golden jubilee celebrations of the college to teach advanced technologies to both engineering and non-engineering students.

CEMS CEO Sethu Madhavan and COO Cdr Gopi Krishna Sivvam, were present. Madhavan said CEMS is a skill development centre in Vizag and Mumbai which has excellent infrastructure. It trains students in 3D printing, designs, robotics and various latest technologies. The government has invested rupees Rs100 crore in CEMS. They have trained 13,000 students till now. The main aim of this MoU is to train students in the heart of the city. Madhu Kumar said under the MoU, CEMS will provide students with employability especially in mechanical, electrical, electronics, communications and logistics. The certificate is provided by the Government of India.
