Bollywood Mourns as Nirmal Surinder Kapoor Passes Away at 90; Kapoor Family, Rani Mukerji Pay Tribute

Anil Kapoor's and Boney Kapoor's mother, Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, passed away on Friday (May 2). She was 90. She took her last breath in one of the hospitals in Mumbai called Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial Hospital.

On Saturday, among the group that visited Anil Kapoor at his Juhu house for the last time, besides his family members, there were also industry stalwarts.

Sonam attended along with her cousin Arjun Kapoor, and what's more, in a video posted on Instagram, would be seen in her car leaving the venue.

Rani Mukerji was also there. Rani, who enjoys a close connection with the Kapoors, was present there in their dark moments.

Janhvi Kapoor also grieved for her grandma. She went along with actress Khushi Kapoor, her sibling. Janhvi had Shikhar Pahariya, who was then rumored to be her boyfriend.

Karan Johar, who is in close contact with Anil Kapoor, also went to pay his last respect.

Anupam Kher, Ananya Panday, Javed Akhtar, Jackie Shroff, and Shikhar Pahariya's brother Veer Pahariya also said their final goodbye.

On Friday night, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor made their way to their deceased loved one, Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, by driving an ambulance.

Boney Kapoor gave a statement about the death of Nirmal Surinder Kapoor on Instagram.

The film veteran penned, "Died peacefully on the 2nd of May, 2025, with her dear family by her side. She lived a happy and fulfilled life, with four loving children, adoring daughters-in-law, a doting son-in-law, eleven grandkids, four great-grandkids, and a lifetime of fond memories."
