BJP Urges Public Participation in May 7 Mock Drills Following Pahalgam Attack and Rising Pakistan Tensions

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday called upon its activists, leaders, supporters and citizens across the nation to come forward and offer themselves as volunteers during the May 7 nationwide mock security drill to gauge readiness against "new and sophisticated threats."

The saffron party used social media to motivate its worker or karyakartas as well as the leaders for volunteering for providing the mock drills, thus making a difference.

The synchronized drills seek to assess the preparedness of response teams and provide safety to the public during emergencies.

The simulated exercises will involve crash-blackout procedures, pre-maturation camouflage of essential plants and installations and revising and practicing evacuation plans.

In the meantime, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan will check on the preparations on Tuesday to bolster civil defense arrangements—such as mock air-raid siren tests, civil defense training for civilians in case of possible hostile attacks, and inspection and fumigation of bunkers and trenches.
