Hyderabad: Ather covered a total of 101.7 million km in Telangana with a scooter count of 14,678, led by Hyderabad at 69.74 million km and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh ranking second at 26.5 million km, an ‘Ather in 2023’ report said.

Electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy in a press release said that in the national list, Bengaluru topped the list, clocking 199.7 million km, surpassing last year’s leader Chennai, which covered 79.7 million km at an average of 5,531 km per scooter. Hyderabad claimed the third spot with 69.7 million km, overtaking Pune.

Tier-1 and tier-2 cities showed increased riding distances, with Karimnagar in Telangana leading with a daily average of 36 km. This trend extended to Kasaragod, Visakhapatnam, Warangal, Cuttack, and Nagercoil, indicating higher daily distances per scooter in these areas.

“Ather owners frequently went on long rides, with over 60,000 scooters travelling more than 100 kilometers at least once in 2023. A notable achievement includes a rider completing 62 trips of over 100 kilometers on a single charge, showcasing the exceptional range of Ather scooters,” the company said.

Ather informed that in 2023 they installed over 900 Ather Grids across India bringing the total number of fast chargers to over 1,600 fast-charging points. “Ather Grids also allows a customer to travel the entire coastal region covering Kanyakumari and Kasaragod (640 km) with over 52 fast charging stations installed,” it added.
