In announcing that India's "national determination to deliver with a devastating hit to terrorists" the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Indian army full freedom Kashmir of his government and "complete operational autonomy to determine the manner and the target and timing" of the Indian reaction in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack that took place last week at Pahalgam which killed 26 people..

This is believed to have stated this in Pahalgam attack security meeting of defence minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and C of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi Air Force Chief Air Marshal A.P. Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi.

Reaffirming India's "national determination to deliver with a devastating attack on terror" PM Narendra Modi said that the Indian army has complete confidence and "complete operational discretion" to choose the method of action, the targets and the timing" of the Indian reaction in the aftermath of the terrorist attack that took place last week at Pahalgam which caused the death of 26 people.

Follows diplomatic guidelines

In the immediate after the Pahalgam massacre, India had announced a range of diplomatic actions against Pakistan and is believed to be the cause behind the Kashmir attack, such as the removal of visas for Pakistani citizens and the putting of the Indus Water treaty in suspension. It is believed that Mr. Modi's meetings with Defence Minister and CDS, NSA as well as the three top officers of the service suggests that military action is also in the works.

Firing across LoC

In the meantime, intelligence based targeted counter-terror operations were continuing within Kashmir, defence sources claimed, even when Cease-Fire Violations (CFV) continued for the fifth night in a row across the Line of Control (LoC).

"During that night, April 28 and 29, Pakistan Army resorted to small arms without provocation firing through the Line of Control in areas that are located between Kupwara and Baramulla districts as well as in within the Akhnoor area," the Army said.
