YSRCP has criticised the TDP for what it termed 'orchestrated attack on democracy' during the Pulivendula and Vontimitta ZPTC byelections in YSR Kadapa district.
Former Minister Ambati Rambabu, addressing the media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, said there is a systematic campaign of voter suppression, fake voting, and police complicity. “This is the most shameful election in India’s history,” Rambabu said.
TDP leaders, under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s supervision rigged polls through inducements, intimidation, and fake votes. Over 50% of Pulivendula’s 10,601 votes were cast by outsiders from Jammalamadugu and Kamalapuram, brought in by TDP to impersonate voters, while local voters were barred from polling stations.
Police, led by DIG Koya Praveen Kumar, shielded TDP goons, enabling rampant rigging. Checkpoints blocked YSRCP voters and workers, while TDP leaders, including Minister Mandapalli Ram Prasad Reddy, stormed booths, attacked YSRCP agents, and seized voter slips.at various booths. They alleged that several YSRCP activists were arrested by foisting false cases to rig the polls without resistance and criticised the detention of party's Kadapa MP Y.S Avinash Reddy and MLC Bhumireddy Ramgopal under house arrest..
