Vzm govt ITI Shows Way In Placements

Visakhapatnam: Setting a trend for others to emulate, the Government Industrial Training Institute at Vizianagaram, near here has achieved spectacular success in campus placement after making it compulsory for all the students to undergo industrial internship as part of the curriculum.

With its motto 'transforming skills, empowering future,' the ITI has put up an impressive performance on how Industrial Training Institutes can roll out industry-ready skilled manpower. The ITI organised a highly successful campus placement drive attracting 10 reputed companies from across the region, including Tyche Cast Tech Pvt. Ltd, QUCEV Technologies, Bhagavathi Products (Micromax) Pvt. Ltd, Johnson Lifts & Escalators, Mallik Apparels, Vijayanagar BioTech Pvt. Ltd, SRS Technologies, Navadeep Samsung Electronics, IFB Services and Sri Kalash Info.

"As part of our policy, we sent the students for internship to various industries in the periphery on payment of around Rs10,000 honorarium. We have also made attendance in the institute as well as internship compulsory as without spending eight hours without fail, none can be assured a promising career," TV Giri, Principal of Govt. ITI, Vizianagaram, told Bizz Buzz on Wednesday.

Out of 173 outgoing trainees, an incredible 146 were selected achieving an 84 per cent placement rate. This achievement reflects the forward-thinking leadership of ITI and the institute’s dedication to making skill development relevant, industry-ready, and future-focused.

Asked for his comments, Regional Employment Officer T Anil Kumar said: "I had the opportunity to visit the Govt. ITI, Vizianagaram and engage with the students through a career talk session focused on current and emerging employment opportunities. The session highlighted the evolving demands of the job market, particularly in high-growth sectors such as solar installations, EVs, AI & ML and other emerging technologies." He said "as part of our commitment to enhancing employability and industry readiness among youth, we also explored potential collaborations with corporate partners under their CSR initiatives. These partnerships aim to support the launch of new training programs and On-the-Job Training (OJT) modules within the ITI framework, aligned with industry standards and future workforce requirements."

He described the initiative as a significant step forward in equipping our trainees with the skills needed to succeed in the modern job landscape and fostering stronger linkages between vocational education and industry demand.
