Two workers died in a tragic gas leak incident at a pharmaceutical plant near Vizag. Authorities are investigating the cause as safety concerns rise in the industrial area.

Two workers died and another critically injured when toxic gas allegedly leaked at a company located at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City at Parawada in Anakapalle district near here on Thursday.
Police said, quoting preliminary reports that the incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday at Sai Sreyas Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd when gas leaked at the time of production from an effluent treatment plant. The workers were on maintenance duty of production operations at that time.
The exact reason for the accident is being ascertained by the Factories Department, AP Pollution Control Board and other regulators. Fire brigades were rushed after sounding a safety alarm.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha ordered an independent probe into the incident and said any safety lapse will be dealt with very seriously.
