With an aim to bring a better crowd management system on a real-time basis, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Thursday launched the Integrated Command & Control Center (ICCC), India’s first AI-integrated command hub for a pilgrimage ecosystem, to deliver real-time crowd prediction, faster queues, enhanced safety, and cyber threat monitoring across Tirumala.

The facility at Vaikuntam Queue Complex–I integrates advanced cameras, 3D situational maps, and live dashboards monitored by a dedicated technical team, setting a national benchmark for pilgrim experience and temple governance. This is the first temple ecosystem in India to unify physical and cyber monitoring in a single AI-driven command center, scaling techniques typically seen at major transport hubs to the devotional context of Tirumala.

The new facility is equipped with over 6,000 AI cameras to monitor and protect Tirumala, a facility to process 360,000 payloads every minute and 518 million events daily, generating 2.5 billion inferences every day, all in real time.. It is powered by AI and digital twin technology from Kloudspot, supported by NVIDIA’s high-performance computing.

.The ICCC traces its inspiration to a visit by IT minister Nara Lokesh to Silicon Valley in October 2024. As part of his visit he met with multiple startups working on smart cities, digital twins, AI and cyber security. Following his guidance, conversations began with like-minded NRIs to shape an agenda to apply frontier technologies at Tirumala for scale, safety, and service excellence. Diaspora leaders mobilized expertise and philanthropic support to translate this vision into a working command center timed with peak festival footfalls.

Built with NRI donor support as a public–private initiative, the ICCC embodies a seva-first ethos with no commercial expectations. The facility consolidates multi-department feeds on a giant video wall and orchestrates swift, coordinated responses, ensuring transparency and accountability in real time.

crowd prediction and queue analytics: Real-time density, wait-time estimation from Alipiri onward, and sarva darshanam flow optimization.

The ICCC leverages advanced AI, facial analytics, and 3D visualization, with high-performance computer backing to process multi-stream video and event data for real-time insights and action. These capabilities align with TTD’s broader AI adoption drive announced earlier this year to elevate the pilgrim journey. Software powered by Kloudspot Inc. Silicon Valley based company

A TTD spokesperson said "by pairing Sanātana Dharma’s timeless seva with frontier AI, Tirumala positions itself as a global standard-bearer for safe, smart, and spiritually grounded pilgrim management. The ICCC is not just technology - it is service in action, preserving sanctity while embracing intelligent systems for the next million pilgrims."
