In a bid improve export import cargo, Jhakka Prasad Acharya, Consul General of Nepal, Kolkata, along with Janak Raj Bhatta, Deputy Consul General, visited Visakhapatnam Port Authority on Monday.
The delegation was accorded a warm welcome by Durgesh Kumar Dubey, Deputy Chairperson, VPA, who briefed them on the port’s operations and various strategic initiatives.
During the visit, the Nepal team was apprised of the port’s infrastructure facilities, cargo handling capacity, modernization and mechanization efforts, covered storage facilities, solar power initiatives, and sewage treatment plant (STP) water recycling for industrial use. Discussions also focused on investment opportunities and potential avenues to enhance import–export activities through Visakhapatnam Port.
