Visakhapatnam: Commending the Chairperson, Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) Dr M Angamuthu and his entire team, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Secretary Vijay Kumar on Friday appreciated their efforts in effectively overcoming challenges despite stiff competition.

He emphasised the need for systematic planning at all levels to further improve cargo throughput and stressed that every employee should inculcate discipline and contribute diligently towards the growth of the organisation and the nation at large.

Earlier, Vijaya Kumar, who was here to take part in Lighthouse Festival 3.0, held a review meeting on the performance of VPA with the senior officials.

He was accorded a warm welcome by Dr. Angamuthu, along with Roshni Aparanji Korati,Deputy Chairperson. The VPA CISF Unit presented a guard of honour to the Secretary, MoPSW.

The Chairperson, VPA, briefed the Secretary on port operations and recent developments. During the review, Vijaya Kumar examined in detail the performance of PPP berths, cargo handling, financial performance, road and rail connectivity.
