Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Task Force on Economic Development for Swarna Andhra Pradesh@2047 on the suggestion of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to identify the economic growth avenues in the State.
The vision document, for implementation of which constituency-wise action plans were unveiled on Monday, envisages transforming the State into a $2.4 trillion economy with a per capita income of $42,000 and a growth rate of 15 per cent.
The task force headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will identify infrastructure gaps, assess the capital requirements, evaluate the existing policy framework and suggest policy and regulatory reforms needed, including the key policies, to transform the State into Swarna Andhra Pradesh by 2047.
As per GO Ms No issued on June 10, 2025 by the Industries and Commerce Department, a copy of which is obtained by Bizz Buzz, the Chief Minister will be the Chairperson and N Chandrasekaran, Executive Chairman, Tata Sons, as the Co-Chairperson. The members will be Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII, Dr Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, Dr Suchitra Ella, Co-founder & Managing Director, Bharat Biotech International Ltd, Prof Raj Reddy, Moza Bint Nasser University, Professor of Computer Science and Robotics, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, Dr Satish Reddy, Chairman, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, GM Rao, Group Chairman, GMR Group, S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman & Managing Director, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman Emeritus, TVS Motor Company and the Chief Secretary, Andhra Pradesh.
CII will be providing the necessary secretarial assistance to the Task Force and the relevant. The Task Force will hold meetings and interactions with senior industry leaders, government functionaries and subject experts of the sectors concerned, to deliberate and consolidate their inputs and accordingly, arrive at the framework of the report.
The Task Force is mandated to identify the economic growth avenues for Andhra Pradesh, spell out the infrastructure gaps, assess the capital requirements and evaluate the existing policy framework. It will also suggest policy and regulatory reforms needed, including the key policies, to transform the State into Swarna Andhra Pradesh by 2047.
The Task Force will also make econometric projections on Andhra Pradesh GSDP size by 2030 and 2047.It will bring out a comprehensive report at the earliest. The subject experts’ engagement will be facilitated by the CII.
