Sri City MD highlights Indo-Japanese Synergies at CII Summit

Hyderabad: At the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, the session on ‘Japan–India Partnership’ brought together key voices shaping bilateral industrial collaboration. Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Commerce and Food Processing, T G Bharath, delivered the Keynote Address, while ONO Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to India, offered a Special Address highlighting Japan’s strategic engagement with India.
Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, participated as a panelist and spoke on Japan’s instrumental role in India’s industrial growth—particularly Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a preferred destination for Japanese investments. Others on the panel were Akira Hanzawa, President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chennai (JCCIC), and Kaoru Shiraishi, Director General of JETRO Chennai. The session was moderated by Dilip Sawhney, Chairman of the CII National Committee on Smart Manufacturing and Managing Director of Rockwell Automation India Pvt. Ltd. He reflected on Sri City’s transformation into India’s second-largest Japanese Industrial Township, underscoring the strategic rise of its dedicated Japanese Enclave—now home to over 35 enterprises, with investments exceeding Rs20,000 crore and generating more than 20,000 direct jobs. He credited this success to Sri City’s purpose-built infrastructure, rapid execution capabilities, and its seamless connectivity with Chennai’s industrial ecosystem.
Dr Sannareddy affirmed that Sri City stands as a testament to the power of trust, technology, and execution in building a world-class industrial ecosystem. He emphasised that long-term Japanese investment thrives on reliable governance, robust infrastructure, and a high-quality living environment. He also spotlighted the Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) as a vital platform for equipping local youth with skills aligned to Japanese standards of excellence.
Sri City stall stands out
The Sri City stall drew attention with dynamic digital displays and intricate 3D models that showcased its unique features, strategic location, and world-class infrastructure. A curated selection of “Made @ Sri City” products—including FMCG items, various air conditioner brands, automobile components, wheelchairs, and Isuzu vehicles—was prominently exhibited, captivating a wide spectrum of summit delegates. The stall welcomed an impressive array of distinguished visitors, including diplomats, ministers, and industry leaders, all of whom lauded Sri City’s distinctive appeal and integrated development model.
