Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday.observed that "Satya Saibaba is a known living God for all of us and with his preachings of Love all – Serve all, he spent his whole life serving people."
He said Satya Saibaba is instrumental in quenching the thirst of drought prone Rayalaseema region by supplying safe drinking water to over 30 lakh people of 1600 villages in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu at a cost of more than Rs 550 crore. At the same time Bhagavan spent Rs 250 crore towards Chennai drinking water modernization scheme.
Addressing Sri Satya Saibaba centenary celebrations at Hill View stadium in Puttaparthi in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part as the chief guest, Naidu said Satya Saibaba used to discuss with him on trust service programmes. The Satya Sai Trust has been providing quality education to over sixty thousand students through 102 Satya Sai educational institutions. Besides the Satya Sai trust has been providing free health care to people through super speciality, general hospitals and mobile clinics.
He said that he is very happy to celebrate the centenary celebrations of Satya Saibaba in his land as a State function. His spiritual power gave people across the globe a meaning to the purpose of their life through peace and service. He said whenever he visits abroad, foreigners used to talk about their visit to Puttaparthi which defines the divine glory of Bhagavan.
The Chief Minister said that the Sathya Sai Central Trust which was established in 1972 rendering service programmes in 140 countries through 2,000 centres. Over 7.5 lakh Sevadal members are rendering service to the society. "It is our responsibility to carry forward the inspiration of Satya Saibaba to future generations," he opined.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, cine artiste Iswarya Rai Bachhan and Satya Sai Trust Managing Committee trustee Ratnakar addressed the gathering.
Union Ministers K. Rammohan Naidu, Bhupatiraju Srinivasa Varma and others were present. Earlier the Prime Minister offered prayers at mahasamadhi of Sri Satya Saibaba at Kulwant hall at Prasanthi Nilayam. The centenary celebrations were organized as a State function in a grand manner at hill view stadium.
