RINL restarts Blast Furnace-3 for capacity production

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Friday restarted the operation of Blast Furnace-3 named Annapurna.
This is considered a major milestone towards achieving full capacity of 7.3 million tonnes per annum as part of Rs.11,440-crore revival package launched by the Government of India early this year.
The company idled the BF-3 due to raw material shortage and severe cash crunch for a long time. The management is hopeful that with the revival of all three blast furnaces, it can put RINL back on right track.
In a post on X, Sandeep Poundrik, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, said: "As per plan, 3rd Blast Furnace of RINL was blown-in (started) today by the hands of Sh K L Praveen Senior Technician & B Venkatesh Asst Manager. 2 BFs are already running above 100%. Good job team RINL. Keep it up. @SteelMinIndia @hd_kumaraswamy @BjpVarma @RINL_VSP."
