RINL is preparing to commission its third blast furnace, signaling a major boost in production capacity and reinforcing its position in the steel industry with enhanced operational efficiency.

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnaman Steel Plant is making efforts to commission the third blast furnace by month-end.
As part of Rs.11,440-crore revival package, the Central Government wanted to operate the plant at full capacity of 7.3 million tonnes by operating all four blast furnaces.
Referring to the restart of third blast furnace, Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma in a post on X said "this is another milestone in the revival of Visakhapatnaman Steel Plant."
The revival package includes infusion of Rs.10,300 crore as equity capital and conversion of Rs.1140 crore working capital loans as 7% non-, cumulative preference shares capital redeemable after 10 years as a going concern.
