With ambitious plans by the State Government to achieve a per capita income of $42,000 and a $2.14 trillion economy with high level of happiness index as part of Swarnandhra Vision 2047, Visakhapatnamn and Amaravati are expected to attract huge investments in the 30th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit being organised here on November 14 and 15.

During the first roadshow organised in Singapore by a recent visit of a high-power team led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the investors there were given detailed presentations on developing Visakhapatnam as the growth engine and Amaravati as the futuristic capital with focus on green energy. IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh, who heads the Group of Ministers to oversee the arrangements for the summit here, said they are expecting major investments for all the regions with focus on Visakhapatnam and Amaravati due to high growth potential

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had kicked off the Amaravati Restart on May 2 with projects worth Rs.65,000 crore. The State Government is now working out the modalities to acquire 44,000 acres from the capital region to meet the future requirements under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS).

The significance of Visakhapatnam has gone up manifold with Niti Aayog identifying Visakhapatnam as one among four growth hubs (G Hubs) in India for planned and sustainable development. Amaravati Declaration, which was approved by the Cabinet, stated that the Amaravati Quantum Valley is first of its kind and will propel a revolution in quantum computing after signing MoU with TCS, IBM and L&T. With plans to create a vibrant ecosystem, the government eyes an investment of $1 billion in the domain by January 1, 2029.

As part of G-Hub being promoted by Niti Aayog, Visakhapatnam is projected to become Miami of East covering Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Anakapalle districts by augmenting the existing infrastructure with an international airport, metro rail and integrated townships. GO Ms. No. 146 was issed on July 30, 2025 authorising Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) to acquire 1941.19 acres under LPS.

As part of nine-district growth plan for the Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER), NITI Aayog expects that the region's economy will see a quantum jump from $54 billion to $135 billion by 2032, Theme based townships are mooted as per the revised VMRDA master plan for development of health city, sports city, education city, MICE tourism, data city etc.
