Visakhapatnam: National Security Guard (NSG) has successfully conducted postage rescue operation in jungle (HROJ) exercise in Visakhapatnam simulating real-life combat conditions with integration of various skills, Operational strategies and tactics as per the prevailing modus operandi of naxals ensuring a realistic and intensive training environment. The exercise lasted for four days and concluded on Wednesday.

The exercise aimed at anticipating potential threats and rehearsed coordinated procedures to establish a robust security grid in the region. The exercise witnessed participation from the Andhra Pradesh Police, Greyhounds and Octopus as the First Responders and considerable support from CRPF, ITBP, SDRF, Forest, Fire, Medical and intelligence agencies. This exercise underscored inter agency synergy and interoperability to enable swift and effective response during emergencies.

It focused on key operational aspects which include hostage rescue mission, counter IED (Improvised Explosive Device) methodologies and jungle warfare tactics.
