Naidu seeks investments into ecotourism projects

Amaravati: Continuing his push to bring investments to various sectors in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said after granting industry status to the hospitality sector, there is huge scope to invest in new hotels, resorts and other infrastructure projects to give a big push to riverside tourism. He said this during talks with Srishti Shibulal, CEO of Tamara Leisure at Davos. Shrishti called on Naidu on the third day of the World Economic Forum annual meeting. Representatives of Tamara company discussed with the CM about investments in the hospitality sector in Andhra Pradesh. Naidu said that there are wide opportunities for investment in the hotel sector in AP and explained that projects have been given industrial status to promote tourism. The CM said that there is scope to develop excellent tourism centers on the banks of vari river from Polavaram to Bhadrachalam. He also discussed the issues of starting projects in highly potential tourist areas like Konaseema, Gandikota, Araku and Lambasingi.
Tamara Leisure officials said that they are interested in setting up ecotourism parks in tribal areas and other projects in Visakhapatnam. The company representatives also said they are ready to impart skills development training to the tribal youth with focus on community first approach.
