AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu firmly rules out giving up Andhra Pradesh’s rightful share of Krishna river water, stressing the need to protect the state’s irrigation and drinking water interests.

While refuting the criticism by his political detractors, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that there is no question of losing Andhra Pradesh's rights on the Krishna river water.
He said after bifurcation Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal allotted 512 tmc Krishna water to Andhra Pradesh and 299 tmc of water to Telangana and the water share should be continued as it is.
Speaking at a review meeting here, the Chief Minister directed the officials to be more strong in arguments before the tribunal to protect our Krishna water share.
Naidu said water security is more important for all districts and water in reservoirs should be used judiciously.The officials informed the Chief Minister that 1,095 tmc of water is available in all reservoirs in the State by November 25.
They said that the ground water level in Rayalaseema increased from 9 meters to 7.34 meters. The Chief Minister directed the officials to initiate measures to improve ground water levels.
