Lokesh calls for support of all to revive Vizag Steel Plant

Andhra Pradesh Government has equal responsibility with the Government of India to put Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) back on the right track by taking up corrective measures, Minister for IT, Electronics and HRD Nara Lokesh said on Monday.
Lauding the sanctioning of Rs.11,440-crore revival package by the Centre, he told the media here that the need of the hour is to increase the operational efficiency by implementing a slew of remedial measures.
In an oblique reference to criticism by YSRCP and some union activists to privatisation of maintenance of some of the activities of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, he wondered what is wrong when the Centre and the State Government are trying to increase the performance of the company.
RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant fondly called Vizag Steel, has an annual production capacity of 7.3 million tonnes.
Lokesh said it is the responsibility of every Telugu person to help RINL achieve a turnaround. He said TDP played a key role in withdrawal of the privatisation decision.
