Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said law and order in the State play key role in attracting global investments and police force should play active role in maintaining law and order.
Participating in Police Commemoration Day programme organised at APSP 6th battalion ground here at Mangalagiri, he said the State Government is committed to the welfare of police. He said 192 police men laid down their lives while discharging duties nationwide this year and paid homage to the departed souls.
The Chief Minister said expressing confidence on law and order in the State, Google came forward to invest USD15 billion in Visakhapatnam on the biggest AI data centre anywhere outside the US.
He said development will be possible only with investments. He said police should play active role in thwarting the attempts of criminals.
Naidu said the modus operandi of crimes witnessing drastic changes by misusing of technology and police also should update their skills to curb the menace of crimes. He said the Eagle force playing key role in curbing ganja menace and smuggling of drugs.
The Chief Minister said that some people are resorting to crimes in the guise of politics. He said that police should act tough on such people who tries to create unrest in the state through fake campaign for political mileage.
The Chief Minister said said the State Government released Rs.33 crore towards medical and health facilities of police force in the past 16 months.
