Addressing the gathering, PM Modi emphasized the inclusive and transformative power of yoga:
“Yoga is for everyone—beyond boundaries, backgrounds, age or ability. Let this Yoga Day mark the beginning of Yoga for humanity 2.0, where inner peace becomes global policy.”
He described yoga as “the pause button humanity needs… to breathe, to balance, to become whole again.”
PM Modi highlighted that yoga has now become an integral part of daily life for millions worldwide, calling it not just an exercise, but a “way of life.”
This year’s grand event in Visakhapatnam saw massive participation and was attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as well.

Visakhapatnam, India: PM Modi and Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu led the celebrations along RK Beach. The event was marked by mass yoga sessions and cultural performances.
Kurukshetra, Haryana: Swami Ramdev, CM Nayab Singh Saini, and Governor Bandaru Dattatreya participated in a large-scale yoga session at Brahma Sarovar.
Ladakh: ITBP personnel performed yoga at an altitude of over 14,000 feet by the Pangong Tso Lake, showcasing the resilience and spirit of India’s forces.
London, UK: Vikaram Doraiswami, India’s High Commissioner to the UK, led the celebration at The Strand with enthusiastic participation from the Indian diaspora.
New York, USA: Thousands gathered at Times Square to mark Yoga Day with open-air sessions and a celebration of Indian wellness traditions.
Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri joined international dignitaries in a special yoga event organized for the diplomatic community.
Since its adoption by the United Nations in 2014, International Yoga Day has evolved into a global celebration of India’s ancient wellness gift to the world.
