Tadepalli: YSRCP leadership and former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath on Tuesday said In response to Starred Question No. 973 in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Session IV, the government misrepresented the facts on borrowings.

The question pertained to details of borrowings during the current financial year 2025-26 till August 3.

In a statement released to media, Buggana stated that the response provided by the government is that, the receipts on account of debt were to the tune of Rs44,364.06 crore and the payments on that front were to the tune of Rs9,058.25 crore, resulting in net borrowing of Rs35,305.81 crore.

However, he alleged this contradicts the monthly key indicators released by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

He said that as per the release by the constitutional body, the revenue receipts of the State Government during this financial year till August 31 was Rs61,578.44 crore and the recovery of loans and advances are to the tune of Rs31.25 crore. Therefore, the total receipts other than borrowings in this financial year till August were Rs61,609.50 crore. The expenditure (along with advances disbursed) during the same period was Rs1,16,626.53 crore, she pointed out.
