NTPC Simhadri successfully completed its flagship CSR initiative, the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) Workshop 2025 after a transformative four-week journey that beganon May 9.
A specially curated video captured the highlights of the month-long journey, followed by an array of inspiring performances by the GEM participants—ranging from dance, song, and skits like Operation Sindoor, to yoga, karate, and self-defense demonstrations. Participants and their parents also shared heartfelt testimonials of their transformation.
Anakapalle District Collector Vijaya Krishnan and NTPC Executive Director, Corporate Planning Sangeeta Kaushik attended the valedictory. Welcoming the gathering, Sameer Sharma, ED & Head of Project, NTPC Simhadri, reflected on the program’s impact and the lasting memories it created for the 120 participating girls and the NTPC employees who mentored them. He reaffirmed Simhadri’s deep commitment to the GEM initiative and its mission of empowering underprivileged girls.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijaya Krishnan emphasised on the significance of self-dependence and on how educating a girl child leads to educating a nation. She encouraged all the participants to focus on individual personality development.
Sangeeta Kaushik lauded the humble efforts of NTPC Simhadri in giving such a learning and nurturing platform to underprivileged girls to become empowered and independent in their lives.
