Focus On Energy Efficiency, BEE tells SDAs

Vijayawada: Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power has asked State Designated Agencies (SDAs) across India to focus on energy efficiency measures as part of World Environment Day celebrations.

BEE with reference to Andhra Pradesh said cities like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Rajamahendravaram have scope for further accelerating the energy efficiency initiatives. BEE Secretary Milind Deore in letters to SDAs asked them to highlighti the broader objectives of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment). He mentioned in the letter that Mission LiFE advocates for responsible consumption, climate-positive actions, and sustainable lifestyles. A central component of this initiative is promoting practices that reduce energy demand and carbon footprint, which directly supports India’s long-term environmental and economic goals.
