Severe Cyclonic Storm Montha continues to move towards the Andhra Pradesh coast, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds across several parts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclone is likely to make landfall between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam near Kakinada on Tuesday evening or night.
To mitigate the impact, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has pre-deployed 25 teams across the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, and Puducherry. Authorities have issued red alerts for multiple regions and urged residents to remain indoors.
