Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday directed the officials to focus more on increasing peoples' satisfaction levels in rendering public services.
He questioned what is the wrong in changing business rules to speed up files clearance as constitution itself was amended several times to benefit people. Presiding over Ministers, Secretaries and Heads of Departments conference at Secretariat ,he said officials should use technology to improve delivery of public services and at the end adopting of humanitarian angle is more important to achieve public satisfaction.
The Chief Minister made it clear all the government services will be made available online by January 15 and directed some departments which are lagging behind to improve their services. Naidu said the State Government is committed for development of all the regions and Andhra Pradesh stands in top place in the country with highest number of 638 industrial parks. He said three economic zones including Visakhapatnam with North Andhra and East Godavari districts, Amaravati with West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts and Tirupati with Nellore and Kurnool districts will be developed.
Calling for simplifying administrative rules and make both the public representatives and officials answerable to people. He said monitoring of delivery of public services at last mile is more important and stressed the need for strengthening the village and ward secretariats.
Stating that the NDA government is not going to increase power tariff this year, the Chief Minister said efforts are on to reduce power purchase price to Rs.4 per unit from Rs.4.92 at present.
Naidu said that the government is able to reestablish the brand image of Andhra Pradesh and attract huge investments for which the success of CII partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam itself is a best example. The Chief Minister said the State Government is able to achieve 12.02% growth rate in first quarter and 11.28% growth in second quarter of 2025-26 and set a target to achieve 17.11% .
He said that the government is more focussing on irrigation sector and able to store 944 tmc of water in various projects. He observed that some officials are adopting negative attitude for every programme and they should adopt positive attitude to get good results. Highest priority should be given for grievance redressal system by interacting with the petitioners to increase peoples satisfaction levels.
The Chief Minister said during the past 18 months rule, the government is successful in improving the performance of several departments. However, some departments are lagging behind. Citing the examples of Endowments and Revenue Departments, he opined that both the departments are yet to pick up. He said the performance of TTD improved and the same situation should be achieved in all temples.
Making it clear that there is no use unless winning public confidence and satisfaction in public services, the chief Minister said the performance of each official will be monitored in real time. He said focus should be made on data driven governance using data lake and focus more on public satisfaction.
Ministers, Chief Secretary, Principal secretaries of various departments and heads of departments were present. Later the Secretaries presented the performance of their concerned departments.
