After Google's recent announcement to set up $15 billion AI Data Center Hub in partnership with Adani Group and AirTel in Visakhapatnam and Meta's decision to make the city a landing centre for its undersea cable project hit the headlines world-wide, the city has become a cynosure of all eyes due to hosting of the CII Partnership Summit on November 14 and 15.
Google zeroed in on Visakhapatnam for its AI hub and gigawatt-scale data centers spread over three locations with a slew of incentives worth Rs.22,000 crore for completing the project during 2026-30 in phases mainly due to international subsea cable landing points in alliance with Sify.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, fondly known as CBN, during CII India Europe Business Partnership Roundtable here on Thursday exuded confidence to achieve the targets set in Swarnandhra Vision-2047 aligned with the Vikasit Bharat Vision to the State No. 1 in all fields.
During the roadshows held in India and abroad, Naidu, his son IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Industries Minister T.G. Bharath, MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas and senior bureaucrats and the top officials of AP Economic Development Board reiterated their resolve to implement a cluster-based approach for accelerating development of all the regions.
Lokesh has said that they will sign 410 MoUs envisaging an investment of nearly Rs.9.8 lakh crore. However, a senior official of the Industries Department told Bizz Buzz that as per the response, they easily surpassed the targets set for the 30th edition of CII Partnership Summit at the sprawling Andhra University Engineering College Grounds.
Lokesh has been saying that their thrust on signing MoUs after studying the seriousness, background and viability factors instead of making false claims like the erstwhile YSRCP regime. YSRCP had held Global Investors' Summit in March, 2022 at the same venue.
After Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, the capital city under development by the TDP-led NDA coalition, has emerged as a top investment destination.
During the roadshows and a series of curtain-raiser events held along with CII and Government of India, the State Government has been showcasing its mission to achieve a $2.4 million economy with Visakhapatnam alone attracting a $1 trillion economy. Andhra Pradesh wants to grow at 15% annually and ensure zero poverty with a per capita income of $43,000 by developing multiple industrial and economic hubs, reducing logistics cost drastically with an efficient supply chain system and last mile seamless connectivity.
Blue Economy and port-led development by ensuring optimum utilisation of India's second largest coastline has also been identified as a thrust area. Speed of doing business has become the new slogan for the State in the place of ease of doing business.
At one of the curtain-raiser events held in New Delhi, Lokesh, who heads the Ministerial Sub-Group formed to oversee the elaborate arrangements for the two-day high-profile summit here, said Andhra Pradesh has set an ambitious goal of attracting one trillion dollars in global and domestic investments. He told the media that the CII Partnership Summit the State has a robust investment climate, governance reforms, and its youth-led development framework.
Lokesh noted that Andhra Pradesh has already attracted $120 billion in investments over the past 16 months--a performance powered by stability, speed, and the state’s investor‑first approach.
“These are not symbolic MoUs. They represent real, on-ground projects that are creating employment and transforming regional economies,” he said.
