CFS opened in Kakinada

Kakinada: Visakhapatnam-based Sravan Shipping Services Pvt Ltd on Thursday opened a Container Freight Station (CFS) at Kakinada.

Managing Director of the firm G Sambasiva Rao said the CFS will help the promotion of container business from Kakinada, which is fast emerging as a hub for sea-borne traffic. The CFS has been developed in an area of 10 acres. It can handle 3,000 containers. Assistant Commissioner of Customs K Ravi Kumar the CFS will help the traders as they can no longer route their cargo to Visakhapatnam or Chennai ports. This will be useful for export of aqua, pharma, rice and raw sugar.
