Bondada Engg launches work on railway project worth ₹228.17 crore in AP

Bondada Engineering Limited on Wednesday announced the bhoomi pooja ceremony for its project worth ₹228.17 crore in Andhra Pradesh marking a significant milestone in India's railway modernisation efforts under the National Mission for Automatic Train Protection (ATP).
The project spans 24 months for construction and will enhance railway safety and communication infrastructure across 1,618 route kilometers of high-density network sections, combining indigenous Kavach collision avoidance technology with advanced 4G LTE-R telecom systems.
The comprehensive project encompasses civil, and telecom works across three critical high-density network sections: Balaharsha–Vijayawada–Gudur (748 route kms), Vijayawada–Duvvada (333 route kms), and Wadi–Guntakal–Renigunta (537 route kms).
Bondada Engineering will construct 452 new telecom towers, including 164 cyclonic and 288 non-cyclonic design structures, while executing 173 kilometers of trenching and laying work. The telecom infrastructure includes the supply and laying of 142 kilometers of 24-fiber optic cables with HDPE ducts and 259 kilometers of 12-core power cables.
This ambitious undertaking represents a crucial step toward strengthening Indian Railways’ safety backbone through the deployment of Kavach, the indigenously developed automatic train protection system, alongside state-of-the-art 4G LTE-R communication infrastructure.
Commenting on the project inauguration at Nancherla Station, Guntakal, Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Bondada Raghavendra Rao, Chairman & Managing Director of Bondada Group, stated: "The project reflects Bondada Engineering's unwavering commitment to enabling safe, smart, and future-ready railways for India. By combining our civil engineering expertise with advanced telecom integration, we are proud to contribute to the national mission of rail modernization through Kavach and LTE-R technologies. This initiative not only enhances passenger safety but also strengthens India's Atmanirbhar Bharat mission by deploying advanced, homegrown safety technologies at scale."
