BEE Appreciates AP Govt, EESL Collaboration for Implementing NECP
Marking a significant step towards environmental sustainability and women's welfare the Government of Andhra Pradesh has made all arrangements for the India's one of the biggest distribution of energy-efficient induction cooktops and compatible utensils in 11,400 Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) across the State in the first phase.

The initiative, led by the Department of Women and Child Welfare, aligns with the Union Government’s 'Go Electric' campaign and the National Efficient Cooking Programme (NECP), championed by the Ministry of Power, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).
A spokesperson for BEE said timed to coincide with World Environment Day, the initiative reinforces the State’s commitment to climate action and clean energy adoption. Implemented in collaboration with EESL—a joint venture of central public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power—the large scale distribution program will be launched by Minister for Women & Child Welfare G. Sandhya Rani, along with public representatives on Thursday here. He said they will oversee the distribution of the energy-efficient induction cooktops and compatible utensils to Anganwadi Centers.
Meanwhile, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development & BEE Anil Malik acknowledged the state's efforts as a national model.
Energy Efficiency in Housing and Urjaveer programmes were earlier formally launched in Andhra Pradesh by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the presence of Union Minister for Housing, Power, and Urban Development Manohar Lal Khattar.
