Services under the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Trust was restored after a gap of three weeks in Andhra Pradesh after the private network hospitals withdrew their strike on Friday after a firm assurance by the State Government to release Rs.250 crore towards arrears in November.

Under the banner of Andhra Pradesh Speciality Hospitals' Association (ASHA) the private hospitals empanelled under the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Trust suspended treatment to arogyasri card-holders demanding release of arrears towards patient care rendered by them.

ASHA president Dr. K. Vijay Kumar said they had withdrawn their agitation after successful talks with Minister for Health and Medical Education Satya Kumar Yadav. He said the government has also promised them to consult them for successful implementation of universal health scheme.

Earlier, the association had alleged accumulation of arrears up to Rs.2700 crore and declaration of a timeline for release of bills submitted by them for treating patients at government-prescribed rates to patients under the NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme.
