Amaravati: Despite the campaign launched by the YSRCP, the TDP-led NDA Government in Andhra Pradesh received a shot in the arm with appreciation from Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda over its policy on developing new medical colleges on Public–Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

The compliments in the form a letter came at a time when the EoI for PPP mode for running the new medical colleges evoked a lukewarm response, which TDP and its allies alleged due to the false narrative spread by YSRCP and the media friendly to it against the government's decision. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, who is from BJP, have strongly defended the PPP policy. In fact, Naidu has already asked the Ministers, party functionaries and officials to launch campaigns against the protests over encouraging PPP mode medical colleges. The letter has brought in the much-needed clarity on the PPP model and is being viewed as an endorsement of CM Naidu’s proposed model to build the medical colleges in the State. Nadda said Andhra Pradesh Government is very firm to leverage PPP model to build healthcare infrastructure.and called upon the State Government to extensively adopt the (PPP) model to accelerate the expansion of healthcare infrastructure and improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of medical services across the State.

In the letter addressed to Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Yadav, he highlighted that PPP projects have emerged as a well-established and proven mechanism for attracting private investment, leveraging expertise, and enhancing service delivery in infrastructure sectors across the country. Emphasising the growing need to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, Union Minister JP Nadda noted that the PPP model can play a transformative role in upgrading district hospitals, establishing new medical colleges, expanding diagnostic and dialysis services, and introducing advanced technology-driven solutions in public healthcare facilities, especially in underserved and aspirational regions.
