Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday lauded SRM University-AP for organising the Green Hydrogen Summit, calling it a historic step towards building a sustainable and energy-secure future.

Two transformative MoUs were signed during the summit. Yamna (UK), represented by Mr. Gal Bogin, will establish a 1 MMTPA Green Ammonia project at Krishnapatnam with an investment of ₹16,000 crore. JKSH and Hynfra, represented by Mr. Tohomo Umeda, will invest ₹35,000 crore in a project at Machilipatnam comprising 150 KTPA Green Hydrogen and 600 KTPA Green Ammonia. Together, these mega-projects will create over 10,500 green jobs. The MoUs were facilitated by NREDCAP and the AP Energy Department.

Addressing a distinguished gathering of policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and students, he reflected on the State's journey in energy reform and emphasised AP's potential to lead India’s green hydrogen revolution.

“We will start working towards making AP, India’s Hydrogen Valley by converging technology, infrastructure, and innovation,” he added.

“I have come here to learn and adopt innovations to reduce the cost of energy and go for green energy to tackle the problem of global warming” the CM said.

Naidu also visited stalls where several projects showcased their work on advanced technologies like hydrogen electrolysers, producing green ethanol through biomass and agricultural waste, plans to build a green hydrogen manufacturing plant, set up green EV stations, and recycling e-waste through hydro-metallurgical approaches.

“With a 10 lakh crore investment target, we have announced the Integrated Clean Energy Policy. This initiative will also generate 7.5 lakh jobs. It also aims to produce 1.5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen and its derivatives per annum, 3 GW capacity of electrolyser manufacturing alongside solar energy, wind energy and pumped energy storage. Citing the National Hydrogen Mission’s ambitious targets of 5 MMT of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070, he affirmed Andhra Pradesh’s readiness to play a leading role. “Our state has all the strengths such as solar, wind, pumped storage, and a 1,000-kilometre-long coastline ideal for exports,” he said, adding that AP is providing the best incentives for clean energy investors. Andhra Pradesh’s Clean Energy Policy promotes not just green hydrogen but its entire ecosystem with electrolyser manufacturing, solar and wind projects, pumped storage, and EV charging infrastructure. “No other state offers the advantages we do. If anyone is offering better, tell us and we will upgrade,” he declared confidently.

Dr. P Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Dr. VK Saraswat, NITI Aayog member, P. Sathyanarayanan, President, SRM University, K. Vijayanand, Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Ashish Lele, Director, CSIR, National Chemical Laboratory, Dr. Sujit Pillai, National Hydrogen Mission, MNRE, Dr. RK Malhotra, President, Hydrogen Association of India, Pranav Tanti, President and CEO of Synergen Green Energy, Anil Kumar, MD & CEO of Greenko Group and others were present.
