AP TET 2025 Notification Released, Exam on December 10
The Andhra Pradesh government has officially released the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2025 notification. The examination will be conducted on December 10, 2025, and the results will be declared on January 19, 2026. Applications can be submitted online from October 24 to November 23, 2025, through the official website — tet2dsc.apcfss.in.
According to TET Convener M.V. Krishna Reddy, the notification, information bulletin, syllabus, exam schedule, and candidate instructions have all been uploaded to the official website. For any clarifications, candidates may contact the helpline numbers provided by the department.

Supreme Court Ruling: In-Service Teachers Also Required to Write TET
Following the Supreme Court’s recent directions, even government teachers appointed before 2011 are now required to appear for the TET exam. The apex court ruled that teachers with over five years of service before retirement must qualify in TET, ensuring compliance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act.
In line with this, the School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh, led by Secretary Kona Shashidhar, has issued detailed guidelines for implementation.
Revised Eligibility and Qualifying Marks
The qualifying marks for Paper-2A have been increased to 50% for Open Category (OC) candidates and 45% for reserved categories (SC, ST, BC, Divyang). The changes are in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) norms.
The TET exam will carry 150 marks, consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions.
Paper-Wise Eligibility Details
Paper-1A: For Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) posts.
Paper-1B: For Special SGT posts.
Paper-2A: For School Assistant (Classes 6–8) posts.
Paper-2B: For Special School Assistant posts.
Qualification Rules:
For those passing after 2011:
OCs: Minimum 50% marks in degree
SC/ST/BC/Divyang: Minimum 45% marks
For those qualified before 2011:
OCs: Minimum 45% marks
SC/ST/BC/Divyang: Minimum 40% marks
For candidates with three-year integrated B.Ed or M.Ed:
OCs: 55% in PG
Reserved categories: 50% in PG
Candidates who joined B.Ed or Elementary Education programs before July 29, 2011, are exempted from minimum degree marks criteria and can still appear for TET.
TET Pass Marks and Language Options
The TET qualifying marks are as follows:
OC: 60%
BC: 50%
SC/ST/Divyang/Ex-Servicemen: 40%
For Paper-1A and 1B, candidates must select one first language (Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, or Odia) studied up to Class 10, and English must be chosen as the second language.
