Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Government has notified the Final Master Plan of Kopparthy Node under the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor.

As per the notification, it will be spread over an area of 6740.44 acres with a land plan as specified in a recent GO issued by Dr N Yuvaraj, Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department.

The government has agreed to give the total extent of land required for the Kopparthy Node. The revised plan for Koppayhas earmarked 53.2 per cent for industries, 1.8 per cent for commercial, 2.5 per cent for residential, 4 per cent for transportation, 1.6 per cent for public and semi-public, 1.6 per cent utilities and 1.9 per cent for parking purposes.

It has 6.1 per cent of area for recreation, 12.4 per cent for roads, 12 per cent for water bodies and 2.4 per cent for other purposes. The node is designed to attract investments in non-metallic materials, food, ageo-processing, chemicals and bulk drugs. Besides Kopparthy, under VCIC project, nodes are being developed in Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Donakonda and Chittoor.

According to GO Ms. No. 170, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Corridor Authority (APICA), approval has already been accorded to declare VCIC as an industrial corridor and Kopparthy Node as an industrial node as per AP Industrial Corridor Development Act, 2017.

The node will spread across Kopparthy, Tadigotia, TG Palli, Yadava Puram, Ambavaram and Ramapathadu villages in Kadapa district.

Kopparthy Node is expected to become a major industrial hub in Rayalaseema. It is being developed with the support of National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC). The concept development plan for VCI has been prepared by Asian Development Bank (ADB). ADB has sanctioned loans and grants worth $631 million for the project to take care of infrastructure development to propel economic prosperity. It laid emphasis on high-quality infrastructure, robust connectivity and climate resilient ecosystem to attract investments and to improve the living conditions of the people.
