Amaravati: AndhraPradesh has received net GST collections to the tune of Rs3,021 crore in October, 2025 marking the second-highest ever for October since GST’s inception in 2017. The government implemented advanced data analytics and AI to detect tax evasion and discrepancies, enabling targeted audits and improved compliance. Coordination between Central and State tax authorities improved with emphasis on IGST reversal mechanisms for better settlement accuracy.
The net GST collections grew by 8.77 per cent compared to October 2024, despite rate reductions on several goods, a senior official said. The gross GST collections for October 2025 were Rs3,490 crore, the third-highest for October ever, with a 2.54 per cent increase over October 2024. - SGST (State GST) collections were Rs1,247 crore in October 2025, a 6.2 per cent year-on-year increase and strong growth compared to the previous year. IGST settlements contributed Rs1,773 crore, showing a 10.65 per cent increase from October 2024. Petroleum product VAT collections increased by 7.88 per cent to Rs1,282 crore in October 2025, sustaining revenue momentum. Professional tax collections saw a remarkable 18.26 per cent growth in October 2025, with a cumulative 46.55 per cent increase year-to-date.
For seven consecutive months (April-October 2025), net GST collections exceeded the same period in the previous year, indicating strong and sustained economic activity and compliance. Total tax collections across all sectors for October 2025 were Rs4,458 crore, an 8.03 per cent growth compared to October 2024.
A performance-based human resource strategy was used to deploy high-performing tax officers to critical zones, improving efficiency and accountability. Return filing compliance improved significantly due to strict enforcement, boosting timely and accurate tax submissions.
Enhanced investigation and oversight mechanisms helped identify irregularities early, preventing revenue leakage. A special compliance campaign targeted high-value defaulters who had stopped filing returns, strengthening the overall tax base.
Active measures were taken to identify assets and bank accounts of defaulters to enable swift recovery of overdue taxes. Monitoring of tax officers' performance using specific indicators helped sustain revenue growth and improve tax administration efficiency.
