Visakhapatnam: Stakeholders in Andhra Pradesh trade and commerce have hailed the recent MoU signed by the State Government with Creatorland to establish India's first Transmedia Entertainment City at 'people's capital' of Amaravati saying it will have a huge compounding impact on the growth of the forward-looking digital economy.

A day after entering into an MoU with Creatorland, Naidu said on X: "This world-class creative township will be a hub for film, gaming, music, virtual production, immersive storytelling and AI-driven content. With cutting-edge infrastructure, global partnerships, and a Creatorland Academy to skill our youth, AP is set to become a global destination for the creative and digital industries."

In an exclusive chat with Bizz Buzz on Monday, O Naresh Kumar, CEO of Symbiosys Technologies, lauded the initiative to set up the entertainment city and suggested the need for a time-bound programme to ground the project and improve the ecosystem to create job-ready manpower in Amaravati as well as Visakhapatnam, which a large number of educational institutions.

Symbiosys Technologies is doing vFX work for companies based in 20 countries, had a good exposure in doing vFX work of blockbuster Tollywood movieBahubali-2 and a 3-D animated film 'Noah's Ark.'

Naresh Kumar, who is the vice-president of Vizag Development Forum, said "Creatorland is proposed to have immersive theme parks, gaming zones and global cinema co-production zones. It is also expected to help drive job creation, skill development, tourism and digital innovation."

He said "the mega project is expected to attract investments between Rs 8,000 – 10,000 crore over the next 5-6 years that will go towards the creation of a Virtual Studio Complex powered by AI-based real-time rendering and volumetric capture technologies, immersive theme parks, gaming zones, e-sports arenas, and global cinema co-production zones, CreatorLand Academy for skilling youth in VFX, AI, gaming, and immersive storytelling."

Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation president Potluri Bhaskara Rao said on the lines of how Kia Motors in Sri City transformed the automobile sector in a backward region, TCS expected to usher in change in Visakhapatnam working as a catalyst to make it into an IT hub, the Transmedia Entertainment City in Amaravati will make the capital city a world-class media entertainment place.

"The project will attract huge FDI, create massive jobs and talent, world class creative, media city will come up as a jewel to Andhra Pradesh," he opined. A CEO of a software company said the project if materialises will be a big boon for Andhra Pradesh as it will not only give a boost to talent-hunting and creativity but also to the creation of gaming zones, theme parks, world-class cinema production zones, job creation and skill development, tourism development and digital transformation.
