AP Election Commission chief visits Sri City

Hyderabad: Nilam Sawhney, Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner along with her husband Ajay Prakash Sawhney, former secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, visited Sri City on Thursday.
Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, accorded acordial welcome to both of them and presented an overview of the integrated business city’s key strengths. He highlighted its robust industrial growth, contribution to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, generation of employment, and its pivotal role in driving regional economic development.
Dr. Sannareddy warmly recalled the able guidance of Sawhney as Secretary, MeitY in shaping the City’s innovation and manufacturing trajectory. He noted that Sawhney was the driving force behind two game-changers: the sanctioning of Gyan Circle Ventures at IIIT Sri City - fuelling deep-tech startups and the development of its Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC), now a nationally recognised hub in India’s electronics ecosystem.
Impressed by the investor-friendly environment and world-class infrastructure, Sawhney commended saying, “Felt so proud to see the development of this integrated manufacturing hub. Thanks to all those who put their heart in this development.”
Reflecting on his long-standing association with Sri City, Sawhney described his visit as a truly delightful experience, underscoring the city’s remarkable evolution and enduring appeal. As part of the visit, the guests undertook an extensive tour of the industrial zone, witnessing firsthand the scale and diversity of ongoing industrial activity.
