AP CM For Speeding Up Handri-Neeva Project

Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu on Friday inspected the progress of Handri-Neeva Srujala Sravanthi project and directed the officials to complete it at the earliest.
He said the project will be the lifeline of Rayalaseema providing a permanent solution to the water requirement of the drought-hit district.
The Chief Minister held a review with the officials after visiting Uravakonda Assembly segment in Anantapur district for a first-hand knowledge on the ongoing project works.
He blamed the previous YSRCP Government for neglecting the project.
The State Government has sanctioned Rs3,873 cr for Phase-1 and 2 works to an extent of 554 km. This will increase water storage capacity to 3,850m cusecs.
The State Government has set a target to complete the works in five months and the first phase works by next month itself.
