Vijayawada: A delegation from Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (AP Chambers) led by its president Potluri Bhaskara Rao met the Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas and discussed key issues concerning the engineering and MSME sectors. AP Chambers office-bearers along with representatives from the engineering sector actively participated in the deliberations.

The delegation raised several important issues including reforms in fire policy, issuance of NOC for 3 to 5 years, effective implementation of labour codes, announcement of a settlement scheme for indirect tax (VAT) disputes, rationalisation of property tax, priority for MSMEs in government procurement, prompt payment of dues, deregulation measures to improve cost competitiveness, and strengthening of the MSME ecosystem in the State.

The delegation also highlighted challenges relating to solar net metering approvals and requested a stable, industry-friendly policy to encourage renewable energy adoption by MSMEs. Concerns regarding mandatory procurement from local MSMEs and delays in payments from government departments and large buyers were also brought to the Minister’s notice, seeking strict enforcement of payment timelines.

The Minister assured that the issues raised by AP Chambers would be examined and appropriate steps taken to support MSMEs and enhance the Ease of Doing Business in Andhra Pradesh.
