Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday approved investment proposals by 30 companies with a commitment to create employment opportunities to 83,437 youth.

The proposals envisaging an total investment of Rs53,922 crore received thumbs up signal by the State Cabinet held at Velagapudi Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here.

The investment proposals include HFCL's Rs1,197 crore project at Madakasira to provide employment to 870 people, Appolo tyres Rs1,110 crore in Chittoor district to provide employment to 500 people, Dheerubhai Ambani Green Tech Park in Krishnapatnam with Rs1,843 crore to provide employment to 19,000 people, Serentika Renewables of India Rs.2,000 crore in Anantapur to provide employment to 320 people. About 30 issues listed on the agenda came up for discussion. Key decisions include the launching of universal insurance scheme to provide medical coverage of Rs25 lakh irrespective of income, establishment of 10 medical colleges under PPP model and formation of a Special Purpose Vehicle by CRDA to implement mega projects like international airport at Amaravati.

While approving investment decisions made at 10th State Investment Promotion Board, Naidu underlined the need to monitor progress of grounding on a regular basis. He told the Ministers and others to effectively counter the misinformation campaign by YSRCP on availability of urea.

The key decision taken at the meeting to provide comprehensive health insurance as part of Universal Health Policy to provide insurance up to Rs.25 lakh to all under Ayushman Bharat-NTR Vaidya Seva Yojana. It is expected to benefit 1.63 crore families.

The government has decided to implement the NTR Vaidya Seva Hybrid Policy to offer healthcare at 2493 network hospitals. In all, 3,257 treatments will be offered under the new scheme.

The 10 medical colleges proposed under PPP model will come up at Adoni, Madanapalli, Markapuram, Pulivendula, Penugonda, Palacole, Amalapuram, Narsipatnam, Parvathipuram and Bapatla.

The Cabinet resolved to develop an ecosystem to develop MSME parks as business centres. Land allotment to tourism projects and convention centres also figured during the discussion.
