Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday gave its stamp of approval for the proposals cleared by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) for 19 new projects envisaging an investment of Rs.28,546 crore.

The meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Velagapudi Secretariat ratified the SIPB's decisions taken at its seventh meeting. In all, 46 issues came up for discussion including land acquisition for the phase-2 expansion of capital city Amaravati. Land allotment to various institutions and linking the Seed Access Road to NH-16 for seamless connectivity. The procedures will be followed for acquisition of land for Amaravati 2.0 as per precedent set for the first phase. Works to be taken up in Amaravati at a cost of Rs.2,733 crore were approved. LoI will be issued to successful bidders for construction of 49-floor GAD tower and other towers at Amaravati.

The Cabinet resolved to create awareness meetings on good governance throughout the State in view of completion of one year in office on June 12 and the decision to give top priority to implementation of Swarna Andhra 2047 Vision. Door-to-door campaign will be launched on July 1 in which MLAs and local representatives and activists will be involved actively. Land allotted to a legal university by CRDA at Amaravati will be given on lease at Re.1 per square meter instead of Rs.50 lakh per acre as a special case.

The new projects approved by the Cabinet, which include allotment of site in Visakhapatnam on payment of a symbolic amount to Cognizant Technology Solutions for setting up a permanent campus will create a total employment for 30,270 across the State. Till date, the SIPB since the coalition formed the government has approved investments envisaging Rs.5.34 lakh crore with a job opportunity for 4.73 lakh. CTS will invest Rs.1582 crore and provide employment to 8,000 in three phases."

"It will be given 22.19 acres at Madhurawada village through APIIC along with a slew of incentives," Minister for Information & Public Relations K. Parthasarathy said during a media briefing..

Among others, the Cabinet has ratified the proposals made by Raymond for an investment of Rs.1,201 crore investment in multiple locations), G. Infra Precisions Ltd (Rs.1,150 crore in Anantapur)r) and Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (Rs.1,622 crore at Orvakal). Other projects include Berry Alloys Ltd (Rs.573 crore in Sri Sathya Sai district), Chinta Green Energy Pvt. Ltd (Rs.2,323 crore in Kadapa), Adani Renewable Energy Fifty One Ltd (Rs.8,010 crore in Kadapa) and Adani Hydro Energy Four Ltd & Adani Hydro Energy One Ltd (Rs.10,900 crore across various districts).
