AP Cabinet approves 31 mega projects

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved 31 projects with a total investment of Rs39,436 crore, aimed at generating 1.11 lakh jobs. These projects were earlier cleared by the State Investment Promotion Board. A key highlight is Infosys setting up a permanent campus at Yendada in Visakhapatnam with an investment of Rs750 crore, expected to create 7,000 jobs. The IT, Electronics, and Communications sector attracted the largest share, with 11 projects worth Rs18,210 crore. Major investments include RRP Electronics (Rs10,239 crore), Sritech Data (Rs1,800 crore), PG Technoplast (Rs1,305 crore), and NPSL Speciality Chemicals (Rs2,550 crore). Several projects are concentrated in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Chittoor districts. Three companies will also invest in Amaravati Quantum Valley, including Quantum AI Global and Sea Dock.
In the industrial sector, eight projects worth Rs7,251 crore were approved, including a Rs3,678 crore proposal by Shyam Metalics & Energy Limited and a Rs1,400 crore pellet plant by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India in Visakhapatnam.
Tourism projects worth Rs200.15 crore were cleared in Vizianagaram and Ongole, while food processing investments of Rs1,222.73 crore in Tirupati and Chittoor are expected to create 550 jobs.
Officials said that since the current government assumed office, SIPB has cleared 264 projects worth Rs9.36 lakh crore, with a potential to generate 9.6 lakh jobs, attributing the momentum to policy stability and faster approvals.
