Giving a shot in the arm to data analytics, Andhra Pradesh Government aims to position itself as the leader in dispensing with PPT presentations and develop Data Lakes in a big way.

Data Lake is a centralized repository, which stores huge data in structured and unstructured formats with a provision for easy access and security. It also provides accurate data analytics requirements.

During just-concluded meetings including the Fourth Collectors' Conference at Amaravati and CII Business Summit in Visakhapatnam, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been harping on making Amaravati a technology hub on the lines of Cyberabad created in Hyderabad. The government has already sought a support of Rs.1,000 crore for Amaravati Quantum Valley Park, for which CRDA has allotted 50 acres. The designs based on the latest technologies are being finalized.

Naidu said six petabytes of data belonging to various departments is already stored in Data Lake with the initiative of real-time governance.

Once operational, the AQVP will house 80,000 employees. It will have two quantum computers with the capacity of 3,000 qubits.

An action plan has been prepared to install two quantum computers by January, 2026 and three more after a year, Secretary, IT and RTG Katanneni Bhaskar, said.

Startups numbering 100 will be promoted with a corpus fund of Rs.1,000 crore. The government is eyeing to attract an investment of $1 billion by 2029. There is a plan to set up domestic manufacturing capabilities for cryo electronics and quantum chips to achieve exportgs turnover of Rs.5,000 crore by 2030..

As per the roadmap prepared for the quantum valley project, it will be made operational by New Year. The building will be ready in two years and the second phase for global leadership and exports during 2027-2030. MoUs were inked with IBM, TCS and L&T on May 2 for collaboration. In the initial years, the park is expected to popularise applications like drug discovery, cryptography, AI, finance, governance, agriculture and materials science. In all, 84 applications across 13 sectors have already been listed for adoption.

In a related announcement, Jasbir Singh, Chairman & CEO of Amber Enterprises of India, announced an investment of Rs.200 crore to establish a quantum cryptogenic component facility at Amaravati Quantum Valley. At a roadshow held in London to invite investors to CII Partnership Summit being held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15, IT, Electronics and Education Minister Nara Lokesh exuded confidence that Amaravati will soon emerge as global hub for quantum science and technology.
