Expressing satisfaction over the impressive GSDP growth in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said the Collectors need play a crucial role in achieving the objectives set in the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047.

AP has recorded robust economic growth in the first quarter of 2025-26, above the national average, he said.

Inaugurating the two-day Collectors' Conclave here, he said the Collectors are the backbone of effective governance.

The Chief Minister said that the State achieved 10.5 growth rate and is now planning increase it to 15 per cent.

"In pursuing our Swarnaandhra 2047 vision, aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047, their role in driving development with compassion is vital. Our focus is clear: efficient governance, inclusive welfare, economic growth, women empowerment, and regional equity," he stated.

Taking to X, he said: "We must ensure citizen satisfaction, embrace technology, lead with compassion, and maintain strong accountability. Citizen satisfaction will be our benchmark, and I hope this conference sets a new standard for responsive, people-centric governance. I congratulated the new collectors on their appointments and wished them all the best."

Naidu said "I urged them to give their best, strive to reach their full potential, and assured them of my full support."

In his address, he directed the Collectors to adopt humanitarian approach to win the satisfaction level of people. He said more preference should be given for field visits to know the realities instead of confining to files in office.

The Chief Minister said that District Collectors play key role in taking the public policies and welfare schemes to people and they should prove their efficiency through their performance. He advised the collectors to establish new trend in administration.

Earlier, presenting the GSDP review at the 4th Collectors’ Conference, the Planning Department highlighted that the State’s GSDP grew at 10.5% in Q1, compared to the national average of 8.8%.

The GSDP growth in AP was 10.5% as against national growth of 8.8%. Gross Value Added (GVA) recorded 10.76% growth in AP, up from 9.4% last year. Agriculture & allied sector received ₹81,496 crore with 9.6% growth (India: 3.2%).

Livestock grew 6.65%; fisheries & aquaculture surged 14.5%.

Industry received ₹92,843 crore, with 11.9% growth (India: 6.8%).

Mining & quarrying posted 43.5% growth due to higher mineral output. Manufacturing registered nearly 10% growth, the officials said. Services netted ₹1,57,321 crore with 10.7% growth.

The State is on track to achieve its ambitious GSDP target of ₹18.65 lakh crore for FY 2025-26, aligned with the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047. With focused interventions in agriculture, industry, and services, Andhra Pradesh aims to consolidate its position as one of India’s fastest-growing states.

Alongside economic growth, the AP Government is ensuring robust performance monitoring across departments and districts, officials stated.
