Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre (AQCC) is inching forward to usher in the world’s largest quantum learning mission that is unfolding in Andhra Pradesh to position the State as the leader in the fast-emerging technological revolution.

As hectic construction activity is in progress to build the park at Amaravati after allotment of 50 acres at a prime spot by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) with the announcement by the State Government to make it operational by the New Year, there is a beehive of activity to create the required ecosystem to meet the manpower requirement. At the CII Partnership Summit, a declaration was made that Andhra Pradesh will be the first State to produce quantum computers to the rest of the world in the next two years.

Taking to X, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said: "10,000 Andhra students have already joined the WISER — Washington Institute for STEM, Entrepreneurship & Research — program launched in partnership with Qubitech, @Qkrishi, and the AP Skill Development Corporation, under India’s National Quantum Mission. Amaravati is emerging as the global hub of Quantum learning, and I am confident we will reach our mission of 50,000 students soon."

Commenting on the initiative, Sreedhar Kosaraju, Chairman, AP Digital Technology Industry (APDTI) Network, told Bizz Buzz that the scale and ambition of this mission are precisely what will establish Andhra Pradesh as the quantum capital of the world. By empowering 50,000 students with quantum tech, we are building an unparalleled talent pipeline and a vibrant ecosystem of research, innovation, and enterprise. This is how a global hub is born."

Amaravati Quantum Valley Declaration, which was made early this year after an interactive programme to brief technology leaders on the mission launched by Andhra Pradesh, envisages attracting $1billion in investments by January, 2029 with a milestone achievement of $500 million by January, 2027. IT and Electronic Minister Nara Lokesh several times reiterated that quantum valley and other new age technologies will play a key role in becoming a $ 1 trillion economy in the next five to seven years.

Andhra Pradesh signed an MoU for collaboration with IBM, TCS and L7T for establishing the park. As part of the plan, a 133-qubit IBM quantum computer system will be deployed. Bengaluru-based OpiAI has already deployed a indigenously developed 8-qubit quantum computer.

At the CII Partnership Summit held in Visakhapatnam recently, Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) inked MoU to become a partner with the State Government in the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre. It will set up a Centre of Excellence for quantum communication and security.

The main objective of AQCC is to create a knowledge and technology hub that brings together academic institutions, startups, global technology providers, and research labs focused on quantum computing, other quantum technologies and deep technologies. Andhra Pradesh State Quantum Mission (APSQM) headed by the Chief Minister, aims to integrate with the broader National Quantum Mission (NQM) framework. This mission will act as the apex body for planning, coordination, and execution of quantum-related programs in the State. The mission will oversee the development of the Quantum Valley and guide the strategic integration of research, education, innovation, industry collaboration, infrastructure creation, and policy formulation.
