Amaravati: With President Droupadi Murmu giving assent to the amendment bill to make Amaravati the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, a notification has been issued that Amaravati will be the capital from June 2, 2024 to ensure stability and boost investor confidence.
The changes brought about in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 ensures the capital's status is legally protected and insulated from future political shifts, making it the sole and permanent capital of the State. The TDP-led NDA coalition led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu had forwarded the resolution adopted in the Assembly to the Union Government to amend the Act so as to prevent any ambiguity in future keeping in view the decision of erstwhile YSRCP Government to make three capitals viz Visakhapatnam as executive capital, Kurnool as judicial capital and Amaravati as legislative capital.
